About Ms. Sheedy

Hi!  My name is Ms. Sheedy and I've been teaching for over 20 years!  Time has gone by so fast. Although I taught 3rd grade for many of those years, my heart is now in 5th grade. During my years as a teacher I've seen many trends come and go.  However, the core of teaching remains the same.   The students are in the hearts of all teachers.  I will do everything I can to encourage, support, and challenge them in and out of the classroom.

Personally, I have 2 children.  My son, Cole, is turning 16 years old and is a sophomore. My daughter, Sydney, is 13 and is in 8th grade.  I spend most of my free time at different sporting events.   I'm either on a football, softball, or lacrosse field depending on the season.  During the winter I relax before the craziness of the spring sports start again. 

Swimming, reading, and bike riding are my favorite past times.  I've spent many summers working as a lifeguard and as a swim instructor.  During my 28 summers working for the Palatine Park District, I've taught many, including adults,  to swim or to get lifeguard certified.  I've also taught many CPR and first aid classes.
